So what do you think is up with this acro? 3 fish in tank Kole tang, pep hog, and McCossters wrasse. I did some TMPCC dips, one today and one 3 weeks ago-ish. I was thinking AEFW but not sure as I did the turkey bastng in the white bowl and found nothing.

Overall parameters are in line,

On Elos kits

KH 10
CA 400
Mag 1200
N03 2ppm
P04 .05 on hanna

Tell me what the heck this is please!!!

Those bumps? The look like growth to me, but the pic is a little blurry so its hard to really tell. Any chance of a better pic?

Ah my camera is kinda broken, I left it on the roof of my car and drove away lol. The kit lens broke so alls I have is a 50mm macro lens and the focus is kinda wacky. In anycase they are more like smooth spots, almost ditchs but not. I'll try to get a new picture once my lights turn on for the day.

They do look like bumps to me, from the shading. Have you tried poking at them with a toothpick under a magnifying glass?

Or... here's an idea. How about just making sure the water parameters are in order and just letting it be? I know, I know, not exactly kosher, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I dont know how much better I can do till I get a new camera but do appriciate the ideas. I know leaving it be might be best at this poitn since there is no real tissue necrosis but since my last SPS system had AEFW I am super paranoid. Anyhow I just got home from work and in the actinics this is the best my camera could get, and since I reglued it yesterday didnt want to break it back off.

I scraped it with a steak knife the other day over one to see if it was something loose on the coral but it didnt come off, didnt seem like a bump either but they are so small its hard to tell.

I once try to use a piler to pull of a tick from a family dog, and somehow she did not like it a bit and started to run away. After one more try, it started to bleed, so I figured the tick must have a nice meal or something. My neighbor saw what I was doing, and ask me why do I want to pinch her nipple.

It doesn't make sense that those would be growths if they're on the underside. They look atypical to me in that second picture. I'd keep a close eye on it but have no idea what it could be.

-1 for AEFW :)

There are a lot of "growths" that can occur that do not look normal. I'll post some pictures later of a growth that occurs in a friends tank that many other reefers have had as well.

They are mostly gone now. After the dip and some time back in the tank they seem to have healed over, I can still see a few but not so pronoucned. I think it was some wierd stress reponce to the AA's I was dosing. I stopped dosing them and things look better. Could be better from a number of things though. If they come back or get worse Ill try to get a new shot.

So it is coral allergic reaction of some sort? Learning something new everyday!
