What are the benifits of a calcium reactor

I currently do not run a calcium reactor and was wondering what the benifits might be. I really don't understand how they work or what is needed to run them. Any advice would be appreciated or some thread where I can read up on it. I have a 90 gal and lately I've been leaning more to the sps's.

Stability is the key to keeping any captive reef. Whether it be salinity, temperature, PH, Ionic Balance between Calcium, Alkalinity and Magnesium or the like - keeping them from swinging is one factor that keeps the animals happy and growing.

Not all reactors are created equal - and the price point doesn't always get you the best product (higher or lower prices).
