This is a new tank and I am nearing the end of curing about 260# of Fiji and Tonga Branch. So it came with my live rock. Just poped up last night. Wasn't really moving until I turned on the lights, then he stood right up. Don't know how I could have missed this guy when I was cleaning the rock before it went in the tank but...what is it? The first pic is of the back and the he turned around so I could get a shot of the front. It's pretty big, maybe a little larger than a roll of dimes. I think it was attached to some some of the deep sea Tonga Branch.

I won't take credit for this, but Dr. Shimek has ID'd it as a type of mollusc that eats Gorgonians. The stalks of the gorgonian fit nicely into the groove you can see on the animal's underside.

Boy, that'll be one heck of an expensive critter to keep alive!
