I had some red algae starting to grow in the corner of my tank. Re-directed flow a bit is helping so far. BUT (there's always a but) there is this greenish black algae starting to spread on the SB. Pic attached.

cyano... you did a decent job redirecting flow... there are more steps however.
check your po4 levels...
10% weekly W/C's and routine maintenence
less feeding.. feed only what fish can consume in 2-5 minutes.
Important, if feeding frozen foods... rinse with RODI water and fish net.
Are you Feeding Oyster or Roti or any bottled foods???? STOP!!
Cut back on lighting cycle.
Change out bulbs if ness..
What are your TDS readings? Possibly need to change out cartridges.
Need to start ruling things out.
This list is to help you, not discourage you.
GL!

and cyano is a relative of the dino which can also be reddish in color... the cure is what I have posted, aswell as in the article you have Doc...I wouldn't raise the ph past 8.4 without 1st trying the list of things to do. Then I would try ruling out cyano and look into dino. Just my $0.02

I finally got rid of the last bit of the same algea.
I redirected flow and lowered the amount of food. I also skimmed wetter for a few weeks. The last trace of it went away about 2 days ago. Now I'm dealing with bryopsis on the back glass, but I'll take care off that tonight with a scraper and a water change. :)
