what type of wrasse

someone gave me this wrasse(?) very aggressive, steals food from everyone and i think ate my snails. gorgeous but i never see him as he buries himself in sand and only comes out for food

looks like a lunare wrasse...if it is they really belong in the sump or
fish only tanks.

+1 looks like a dottyback not a wrasse. but you said it buries? didn't know a dottyback buries.

Isolate him in a container and put him back in the water and take a picture. He will look much happier being able to breathe!
