Whats a good water change percent?

What would you consider the MAX water change percentage I can do at a time in a 90g?

I have phosphates from using my LFS's RO water! So I am going to do a large water change but don't want to go overboard!

P.S. I now have my own RODI so i won't be buying RO water anymore!

I think I would do 5-10 gls every day for about a week...and the do the same 2 weeks later.

this is under the assumption you have no sump and total water volume is 90gls....if you have a sump, i would increase %, depending oin how big sump is.

i do 10g on a 60g total every week, alot of variance's, equipt, regimen, over all husbandery

i do 10% every week at the same time..... this way the corals and fish will get use to the routine and no lose in nutriments... right now my cleaner molts every 3rd water change like clock work.....

I would run phosban in a reactor and keep up with routine water changes. On a 90 gal I would change about 15-20gals bi-monthly.

I got a 90g too. I just empty the sump every week or two. Its about ~20 gallons of water. Maybe a little less.

High Pos? I'd ditch the canister! Building a sump costs about 100 bucks and it's really easy to setup. Check out youtube for videos.

you can do extremely large water changes like 70 percent. make sure that the salt has been mixed for a long time and salinity and temperature is correct.

Ive known experts to pump water in and remove water at the same rate doing 100 gallon water change on a 100 gallon tank. They would do this two or three times a year.

Me personally I would do as Rookie suggested 10-20 gallons a day for a week or so.

i do 20% every two weeks. thanks to a whole house filter i can use my tap water. just to be safe i use a little prime. i think the amount and frequency depends on the bio load and consumption of elements. technically you can change 50% or more but it is not recomended unless there are extenuating circumstances.
