Vermetid Snail..yes, it is a snail.
They throw those cob-web looking things and catch small particles of food in the water column & then reel 'em back in and have dinner :)

+1 I have them in my tank. They never really bother anything unless they get outta control. I had a Blasto Merletti mini colony that almost completely died off because 8 of these little buggers grew on the frag plug, underneath the colony. I broke the colony of the plug and it's doing better. The only way to get rid if them from my experience, is to break them off or kalk paste them
