I have had a wierd problem lately. I moved my tank a couple of weeks ago, but my shrooms and polyps have not came out. I can remember when my mushrooms were huge and covered the rocks in my 60, but lately they seem to only get the size of a quarter, and the button polyps don't even open. When I had them in my other tank (before the move) they did the same (the shrooms, the polyps never have opened). I experimented a bit and moved a couple polyps and shrooms to a nano I have and they come out within 2 days, and are huge. Could I have too much lighting, and they are not coming out because of this. I am only running 2 250watt 12k's at this time and in my nano I am running 2 9watt pc's (1 actnic and 1 67k). All paramaters seem to be fine but I kinda wanted them to come out again.
I tried to dose Iodine for about a month, but saw no effect, so I stopped.

Sorry so long.

What's the lighting and water movement like in the current tank. Mushrooms don't like a lot of light. If they opened fully in a nano under small wattage powercompacts and now they're under 250w mh or something then that is your answer. With buttons it may be other issues such as water movement. I've had buttons close up when placed in front of strong direct current. Give us more info.

I originally placed them in my 60 almost a year ago. They seemed to get huge under my 2x250 watt 65k's w/ 2 55w actnic pc's. Until about 4 months ago. I thought maybe something was wrong with my water, but all checked out over and over again. they seemed to be living, just not as huge as before. In the 60 I had a Maxijet 1200 and a Rio 800 for powerheads, and a fluval (no media) to produce flow.

Now they are in my 125 w/ 2x250 watt 12k's. Every other coral seems to be out and flourishing, but these. Last weekend I purchased a piece of rock that made an overhang so I placed them under it to shade them. For fow in my 125 I have 1 Quiet one running from my sump up the overflow to an output, and a maxijet 900. I am almost done with my closed loop and it will add another Quietone to the lock-line tubing (similar to a spraybar).
In my nano (eclipse 6), I have the 2 pc's and for flow I have a rio 90 blowing pretty hard on them and they open huge.

Nice looking tanks. My eyes aren't too good so I can't tell where the mushies and buttons are. I would still guess that it may be too much light for the shrooms and too much direct flow from the powerhead if they are in it's line of fire. It could be something in the water column they don't like also. There are many things that we don't test for or our kits don't pick up. I wouldn't have does iodine personally. Overdosing iodine can bother things. Is it possible that when you moved tanks there was any soap or chemical residue in the new tank? Have you used any household cleaners or insecticides or painted around the tank recently? I know many of your corals look fine but sometimes one species is more sensitive than another. I would do a water change to dilute any possible contaminants and then run a polyfilter and/or same GAC for a while. That might help.
