Where to get live rock?

I just scored my 100L and at some point might even consider setting it up, once my wife drops the divorce proceedings.

So I will be in need of some live rock.

Last time I bought florida aquacultured stuff. I liked the fact it was eco-friendly, but it was rather dense and hard to build with. I have several of the larger pieces in the garden that I suppose I can use as base rocks. But I want something nice. I live on the west coast.

Any suggestions?

i dont like florida aquacultured. too many people get mantis shrimps and the rock is heavier then pacific rock. there is pacific rock from walt smith that is ecofriendly now but i think most rock is collected in non reef areas where loose rubble builds up, so buying rock doesnt damage the reefs from what i am told.

i recommend www.oceanproaquatics.com . they are in california and have lots of lr to pick from.

The Marshall Island rock at Premium Aquatics is awesome. Very porus aned interesting looking. I called them and talked about what sizes and shapes I wanted and they described what they had and we agreed on which pieces I would buy. I was looking for larger pieces than most people would, but it was still a terrific buying exerience.

I also bought other types of rock locally, so I wound up with nice diversity.

I'd check out premium aquatics if I were you, along with your LFS's.
