Getting a hippo tang this week and I want to be ready just in case it gets ich. I already have SeaCure Copper Treatment, cannot find the SeaTest kit that is recommended with it. I found Instant Ocean Copper Test though which is also manufactured by Aquarium Systems (same as SeaCure.) The ideal dose for SeaCure is 0.15 ppm so I'd need a test that reads that which Istant Ocean Test does. My Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Test is useless as the next reading after 0 is 0.25. Any recommendations?

No not really. That was the point. If you keep it in between the 2 colors you should be fine.
The other thing you need to keep in mind is the type of copper treatment you are using. The Sea Cure is non chealted, so you need a test kit that measures that correctly. I don't think you're going to find anything better than what the Salifert kit will do...and I don't mean that in a bad way

If you're going to treat for Ich you need to treat at .25ppm and not .15ppm.

Also it more expense but the Lamotte copper kit is the best around. Also you want to use Copper Power, it's a very good copper and you don't have to worry about treating at higher levels. Coral Aquarium in LIC sells it.

how harmful will .25 as opposed .15 be on the tang? Doesn't it wreak havoc with their stomach bacteria? Perhaps hyposalinity would be a better option.

Treating at .15 isn't going to get rid of the ich, you need to treat at .25. That's why you need to get a good test kit and measure the levels.
Anyway you look at it copper isn't good for a fish but it's a cure for ich. When treating at .25 you need to be careful not to let it go much higher, as it can kill the fish. By using Copper Power it lets you treat at much higher levels without worrying about killing the fish, especially if you don't have a good test kit.
