Just noticed patches of white moss, almost like packed spider webb material, inside a bunch of my rocks.

ID?

good bad or indifferent?

how can i control it?

If it looks like a "spider web" material, it may be a type of snail which is a stationary type snail. It sends out a mucous, which looks like a spider web, in order to catch food. I bet the web is thicker when you feed the tank.
Either way, if my description fits, it's a harmless sessile snail. Beneficial if you ask me.
Either way, you should post pics so we can be sure.

It's a sponge I have it growing on my rock also. Dont touch it tho, When I bought the rock the kid in the store touched it and said his hand was stinging afterwards.
