I got to snorkel by a small reef which was truely awesome. along the shore, there was ALOT of rock. i picked up some dry pieces with what look like no life on them, which im kay with. What is protocol with these pieces? how should i wash them?

An MR friend gave me a few small pieces of cured rock (no more than 3 lbs) he got from the Carribean, from what I recall he cured them the same method you would any other LR.
Don't ask me for particulars, I don't have an eidetic memory. Good luck though!

I like pouring some hydrogen peroxide into a NEW spray bottle and spraying the surface of the rock with the peroxide. It kills algae, cyano, Dino and the like.
Let it sit for a few min. Then rinse the rock to remove excess peroxide.

if you already have a running tank youll be ok just rinse in water peroxide wont be bad but i didnt do that i just rinsed it and put it in and my rock was way over ten pounds. As to bringing it in just put it in your luggage no worries its dead. I once went to floriday and brought back 13 pieces of live coral i caught up in a island called peanut island i bought a big black tote in walmart baggaged everything up in a foam box put it in the heavy duty black tote with a lock and paid 20 extra luggage fee and put it threw with no problems plan to do it again soon lol
