Kent website says: "This valve can handle pressures up to 90 psi."

Does your pump exceed that? I dunno. Normal tap water pressure is in the 40-60 psi range.

If using the kent float valve in a pressured line I would suggest making one addition. Where the white fitting screws onto the black threads you might want to add a gasket there. Simple thing found at any hardware store. Cost about 10 cents. My kent floats are connected to my RO unit and have always leaked at that part of the fitting. After installing this gasket they hold pressure just fine. The inner float shut-off withstands pressure just fine. The kent floats were designed to be used in gravity fed systems. Maybe mine were supposed to come with a gasket there. Don't know but that modification did work for me.
