i switch from 2 250 watt mh to an 8 bulb t5 fixure 6 atinic and 2 12,000k bulbsrunning for 8 hoursnow i am fight green and red algea nothing ealse has change just lights .will new lighting give me this?

i dont believe this is the best way of getting rid of your algae. Try reading up on vodka dosing or try to have control of your nitrate levels.

It could. Changing the bulb and intensity of lighting can be a single factor that will promote an algae bloom. But, that doesn't mean that the new lights...alone...are responsible for that problem. What are your phosphates and nitrates testing at, jer?

all i did is change the lights so i dont think its ant thjing to do with the watre never had this before
