Will this work for a mesh mod?

I have a Reef Octopus 150 DNW Recirculating skimmer and I want to do a mesh-mod on it, and I just found that I have a giant roll of this plastic mat thing and I wanted to know if it would work or not. Heres a pic:

no, holes are too large and evenly spaced apart. enkamat is more like a worn out brillo pad.

What if I put 2 layers on it that overlap to make the holes a little smaller?

use the gutter guard to cover your overflows and the top of your tank. get some enkamat to do the mesh mod. it's cheap if you eBay it.
