winterize/flushing chiller- how to?

can some1 please give an idea exactly how to winterize a chiller?? what exactly should I use to flush it out?? how long should I flush it out for? how to get ALL the water out the chiller...ect. I have a teco 1000 if it makes any difference.

after I disconnected my chiller I flushed with RODI water and vinegar from a 5 gallon bucket and a pump I ran through the chiller for 10 minutes. Then used a compressor to blow the chiller lines out.....

why do you need to winterize why not leave it on? The temp will not get high enough to turn chiller on.

Agreed, leave it on. Flush with vinegar overnight once a year or so, keep innards clean from dust, and leave the pump that runs it on so the water inside it doesn't get stagnant, done.

10 minutes is no where near enough time to melt away the calcium that builds up over time. And be careful blowing out the lines that aren't designed to handle hi psi that you could be blowing in with the compressor

My JBJ 1/5 HP comes with instructions and it says to flush for 30 mins
