wiring problem

Like a dummy i managed to get my ATO wire stuck between the tank and stand:banghead:. I want to move my sump now and thats when i realized the ATO was stuck. Is there a safe way to cut the wires and get them back together thats safe. just using electric and twisting them together does not seem like a good idea. is there a better method?

cut... solder.... heat shrink.

ya those would work.. just strip the covering off the wire and then combine the two ends.. and screw the wire nut on tight.
