Sea Maiden,
Did you not learn that ethics is a gender based thing in school?
Steve
Ps. Its every bit as relevant as the soccer scores we get from Canadian posters! It brings us out of our little myopias.

I just spent 25 minutes reponding and it got deleted as the post was locked!
Oh well.
It looks like it wont be allowed.
The gist of the post was that 95% of the MSI netting is rotting in a wharehouse because its the easy stuff ie, the handnetting which is cheap, easy and already sent several times.
MSI sent way too much of the wrong stuff and none of the barrier netting which is very much needed.
Embarrassed for Mary, we kept quiet until she sold out.
Perhaps we also sold out by protecting her.
The AMDA fund has already outfitted 100 divers with the barrier netting and an equal amount w/ the handnetting.
These guys have the complete set of gear.
AMDA 100
MSI 0

THE NETTING FROM MSI IS STILL ROTTING IN THE WHAREHOUSE.
Sincerely, Steve

The debate thread is not locked. It's wide open, as long as we respect Glenn's request to keep it civil. Please, by all means, go there and give your rebuttal. That's where all responses should be posted, as I've stated numerous times. That way it's all organized in one neat, easy to read place and people don't have to search through 3 different threads and try to piece together "the debate". I'll be waiting.

I am truly saddened and embarrassed by the actions of most people on this forum. It is a total disgrace to the marine ornamentals industry. Our industry is filled with quite a few well-educated and very knowledgeable professionals that seek to achieve a common goal: better fish for the hobbyists while helping to create a sustainable and more responsible industry. The reason that most industry professionals do not take most people who post here seriously, can be seen in some of these threads that do nothing but end in dissention and animosity. The real catalyst to this is Mr. Robinson himself, with his accusations and greater-than-though attitude. The majority of people in the MO industry that have been around for fifteen or twenty years know to stay away, due to past dealings with him either directly or indirectly. Mr. Robinson has burned almost every bridge with some of the most established and well-respected people in this industry. There will never be unity while Mr. Robinson is involved, period. Just take one look at AMDA and their accomplishments, or lack thereof, since Mr. Robinson took the helm. James Weisman you should be embarrassed for allowing the facilitation of such nonsense. Steve, leave your ego at home for all of us, as well as your eloquent posts, and implement some of your ideas. If you dedicated as many hours of your time to your business as well as your endeavors, as you do posting the same rhetoric, then perhaps you could gain some respect from your piers. Actions speak far greater volumes than words.

Aquarius: Do you mind telling us who you are? You don't have to I guess, just would be nice considering you do seem to work in the industry.

Thanks

Just for clarification, James Wiseman no longer is an active admin of this community.

I'm also not quite sure what you'd like us to do. Constructive suggestions would be helpful. Keep in mind that Reefs.org has and never will be interested in censoring content. We do implore everyone to behave civilly and respecfully; I will be the first to admit our repeated request seems to often fall on deaf ears. But be clear that Reefs.org does not condone all the behavior being demonstrated.

I feel compelled to point out that while you criticize the forum's particpation for "dissention and animosity," your post perpetuates the very thing you dislike about this forum. I think we all too often subjugate rationality to our emotions. I am asking once again for everyone to be civil and mature in their responses, realizing that while we may have different ideas about how to achieve betterment of the industry, we are all interested in the same goal. You are right, Aquarius: animosity, hostility, petty insults, and political posturing is not constructive. Fact is, it's rather deconstructive to establishing progress.
