Would an Eheim 2217 be a good addition to my saltwater tank?

I currently have a 125 gal saltwater set up with a 30 gal sump/refugium. I have an Eheim 2217 just laying around and was thinking of just hooking it up just for extra filtration, would that be a good idea or would u be doing some harm?

Do you have a reef or a FOWLER tank? If a reef, long term it could do more harm if you don't change the pads and media often enough. You'll get nitrate build up. If fish only, you probably would be fine. But just curious why do you need more filtration? do you have a skimmer or reactors?

I have a fowler setup, my water is fine, I have a berlin skimmer, everything works great, I just figured a little extra filtration wouldn't hurt, and thought it would also help keep ammonia and nitrites in check
