They are reef safe, wouldn't bother corals, but some will eat inverts, like Shrimp, Hermit Crabs and Snails. The bigger problem is some of the Hogfish can get to be a pretty good size, though you can keep smaller ones for quite some time before they out grow your tank.

I have had a melanurus wrasse and a radiant wrasse for years never jumped they sleep and hide in the sand bed so they dive don't jump and completely reef safe except hermits if they are very hungry. the melanurus is an awesome fish and they kill flat worms, red bugs, pyramid snails they are great reef fish and very beautiful

agreed and with no disrespect all fish MAY jump just like all fish may eat your corals but some are more predictable than others in my experience the Halichoeres wrasses are less prone to jumping than other wrasses and are not easily spooked wich could lead to jumping. My wrasses will eat right out of my hand with out a ounce of hesitation
