I installed the bulkhead into the elbow without teflon (stupidly) and I wanted to get it done right, so in the process of removing the two apart, I stripped one of the pieces where I used to grip it with pliers.

I need just this. Any local vendors have it? It was part of my Glass-holes 700GPH kit and ordering now would mean I'd pass up on a weekend of getting my system progressively close to being started.

If you're lucky enough to find that piece (odds are you will be buying a new one), it is not meant to be used with any wrench/pliers. That is a very soft bulkhead and will continually strip the threads if you use a wrench. That bulkhead should be hand tightened.....with POSSIBLY a 1/128th inch turn with a wrench (only if you've got the finesse to do that).

depending on where, and how deeply you crushed the threads, you may be able to 'clean-up' the threads by forcing the nut over them. Once you're past that point, it should be easy to tighten up, and will work fine...worth trying, because, otherwise, it's ruined anyway!
I might have extra 1 1/2" bulkheads at home, but from the 2nd pic, it looks like the inside is 1/2 slip and 1/2 threaded???? is that right?

I believe he installed the elbow INTO the bulkhead and severely overtightened it. Needless to say.....just my guess.

Yeah, only the outisde is mangled. Not the inside. The inside is perfectly fine as the way it should be.

No worries anyway, I emailed glass-holes requesting the link to the exact replacement part for the bulkhead (in it's entirety) so I could just re-order it, and they responded with a shipment confirmation on a replacement part. I'm very pleased yet saddened that my stupidity has lead to someone having to part out with an expense that they had nothing to do with.

Thanks glass-holes.com

Also, what I did was, use a wrench to grip the left side of the piece (on the thread, relative to the pic), and you have to imagine the elbow was on the right side. So i used the wrench to hold it in placve on the left side, and used a pipe inserted into the elbow to turn the elbow releasing it from it.
