just so you know thats a chaetodontoplus meredithi the true personifer has more black on the tail.

great fish and does well in captivity considering it's a large angel. My advice would be stay away from the show or X-large sizes they tend to dislike captivity, unless the person has had it for months. I've had some large angels for over a month that hated life in a 200-350 gallon tank, wouldn't eat and slowly starved themselves. Very sad.

also I'm going to repeat myself but make sure whomever you get it from has had it for at least a month
make sure it's eating a large variety of foods and don't be cheap these are and should be expensive at least $200 I'd say. Thats my penny. Good Luck.

It's not so much knowing how much they go for I'm just saying beware of the "inexpensive" ones. Pay the extra $50-100 more one thats been around, eating and adjusted to captivity.

Cali- I agree with that statement you are better off with one under 6". But I would still be concerned with the animals adjustment to captivity.

I don't think price would matter. Whether it is $100 or $200 or more. As long as it is eating, healthy and adjusted to captivity, that is what counts. I bought an asfur angel for $140 that died six days later, bought another one for $69.99 at a LFS and is doing great, so go figure...

It is always going to be a hit or miss situation with angels.
