Does anyone know a great place to pick up pvc gate valves and maybe a check valve and some other plumbing Im located in queens but will travel to say brooklyn if need be. tyvm in advance

Home Depot is everywhere. They have PVC pipe, fittings, and ball and gate valves, but no check valves. I think salt water capable flapper valves are pretty much only available at aquarium specialty stores. I saw a 3/4 inch one at Kissena Aquarium last week.

+1 Although I have a Lowe's next to Home Depot in my area and they tend to have a little better selection for smaller sized fittings 1"-2" stuff.

I've never seen gate valves in the sizes we need at any local stores by me, lowes/hd/ace, heck i even went to a plumbing supply house and the guy looked at me like I had three heads when i asked for a 1" PVC gate valve... Best bet for some of those items will be online. They all gave ball valves, u even found true union ball valves at one of the home depots, but they aren't great quality, However $7-8 for a t/u ball valve from hd is better than spending 2-3x that from one of the reef vendors online...there's a big difference in quality...I bought a try union ball valve for my return from brs and it's soooooo much better, smoother and easier to turn, than the stuff from hd...cost a lot more though.. Good luck
