what size tank and do you have a cover or canopy without any openings ? fairy\flashers are known jumpers, also what other fish do you have in the tank ?

Carpenters ARE flashers and neither are fairies I'd suggest a little research first and as Rick notes above, if you don't have a really secure fitting lid, don't bother with either fairy or flasher wrasses.

My tank is covered. I went the mesh screen route. Live stock so far are two false clowns.

Now that we have that cleared up You have tons of choices. How big is the tank?

75 gal reef tank. Was contemplating a small school of chromis as well. Possibly getting smaller tang rather than the hippo.

Oh pretty much carte blanche. Nice. Personally, I'd pass on the hippo. They are really beautiful. but quite neurotic and unpredictable. hard to beat a healthy yellow tang for color and utility. Which ever fairy or flasher's you decide on, I'd recommend a pair as that will help the male keep his coloration and promote "flashing" displays which are fun to watch.

i have a tomini as well, try to find a small one though and this is one of the smallest tangs, and there is a ton of choice's on wrasse, but do realize once you add one you cant add a 6 line { devils spawn }
