X-mas tree disaster

My wife gets up before me around 4:30am and as she was going to take her shower,she heard a loud thump!It was the tree that was toppled over including most of the ornaments,lights and the water from the stand.Now the tree is leaning forward and held up with chairs and most of the ornaments are broken and the tree topper.Going to see if I can repair the stand and hopefully the trunk has not snapped.By the way,we think it was the cat cause it was standing up for about a week and he likes hanging out underneath it and drinks the water(little devil).:lol:

Thats horrible, hope everything turns out ok. IMO though setting up the decorations is the best part of christmas...so maybe you can have some fun with it if you have to do it over :splitspin

More than likely and if the trunk is damaged,maybe I can saw that piece off and start over.

thank god the spilled water and electrical didnt cause any further problems, if the lights were on of course.

That happened to me 10 years ago and we lost a lot of ornaments from her late grandma. We tie the tree to the wall with strings at two points since then and haven't had any accidents. Sorry for you lost.

Screwed a hook into the wall and fastened it with fishing line.Won't fall again.

Zany, we have tried EVERYTHING...our cats find their way into the tree, and slowly start dismantling in from the inside out. Every year. No matter what we do. I think the only way to stop them is a ring of hot sauce on the floor around the tree, like a moat.

It's fixed and the hot sauce thing is cruel but funny as hell.

I always plant mine in a huge flower pot with fresh mirical grow.. I also water it once every couple of days..

Never had a problem.. I grew plants before corals and I battled my mom and won for 4 years straight on who could keep the tree longer without it shedding.. But the cat might want to dig in the dirt..
