did you catch him yet? Im curious cause it took me about a year to catch a certain really smart wrasse that wouldnt go in to any fish trap with any type of bait in it.
Guess how i caught him in the end?
I didnt feed my fish for a few days then i knew he would be the 1st to attack the food except when its in a fish trap, he would wait till another fish went in and take the bait then he would steal it from their mouth.
So, I took out my fishing gear, found my smallest hook, lightest sinker, a piece of small silverside, as soon as it went in he attacked it quicker than any other fish. pulled him out and i was finally done with him. He went in to my frag tank clearly pissed off about what happened but with no injury to him. if you go this route just use the non barbed hook. Funny cause the guy who knows me at the fishing and tackle shop was like, what the hell are you catching with that hook, i said you really dont want to know.:banghead:

Yes i finally did catch it last night
Mine is extremely smart i had to build a custom (drop door) acrylic trap that fit in my biggest cave and pt sand on the bottom of the trap
The first couple of days it stayed clear of the cave i just left it then i saw it was picking at the sand on the bottom of the trap so i slid the door partially on put some food (it likes seaweed) in front let the fish get some nibbles then slowly pushed it deeper into the cave i waited for about a hour (i could have trapped every fish in my tank) until it was mostly in the trap and dropped the door praying it would just get caught
You have no clue how happy i was i have been trying to catch this fish for about a year
The hook wouldn't have worked with me i have a hippo thats faster i was scared of hooking some other fish

The way im storing it is in a 6"x6"x7" sealed container with some holes punched in it in my blacked out sump with a airline tube stuck in for feeding
