Just put a frag of Yellow polyps in my tank and they are doing great.

My question is, Is these anything special I need to do to get them to multiply besides normal great water quality?

I know this is a loaded question so, no funny stuff

In order to get them to reproduce, you should also feed them. I feed them directly once or twice a week. Mine will eat almost anything that they can get their tentacles on (brine shrimp, crab meat, squid, etc.)

I didn't realize that you can or even should feed polyps directly.
I thought they were like filter feeders.

Anyway, how do you go about feeding them directly? Just place brine shrimp in the tentacles?

I also have button polyps, should they also be fed by this method?

Thanks again

I had yellow polyps - I never fed them, but I did feed "the tank". They multiplied profusely...

Now that I think about it, I remember them grabbing stuff that floated by them & gulping it right down...

I feed mine simply by sucking up some prepared food mixed with tank water in a small turkey baster and squirting it onto the polyps. You have to be careful not to blow too fast or they close up before they get the food. Or you can do like Cheese Sandwich said and simply drop some food in on top of where they live when you feed the tank. I like the direct approach once a week just to make sure they are getting something.

True my tank was only 29 gal, so when I fed, food was everywhere...
