Mesh cover good. Even if you don't have any wrasses.
In my experience ALL fish can jump. My wife found a clown on the floor once (still alive, don't ask me how). I've had a Diamond Watchman Goby attempt to vault out at least 20 times, seen my Blue Hippo do the same or chase other fish around, a couple chromis hit the cover too... yeah... the 1/4" mesh cover is a good thing. If it has fins, it might jump. If it's a wrasse, take out the "might" and replace with "when".
Funniest story is: I was working in my tank about 6 months back and my yellow wrasse flew out of the water and hit me in the side of the head, then - fortunately for him - bounced off my cranium and back into the water. Everything was wet. Wrasse was fine. At least my head is good for something.
I just had a fish jump. I've actually had two so far....
a while back my clown jumped and I found him dried.
Two nights ago my green wrasse jumped.
However, I found him and he was moving around (he was not very moist so I dont know how long he was down there).
It took him 2 days but now he is swimming around like there was no problem.
