Zoanthids are my favorite corals. I admire how they all look different, how large of a variety there is available in the hobby, how different the prices are, and how different they are when it comes to water parameters.

Ive had success and failures with many different kinds and i'd like to share my experiences :)

Petroglyphs

One of the first zoas I had success with!
I paid $40 for this polyp from a friend reefer.
Ive had these for about 4 months.
After my first tank crashed and I lost all my corals, I got these in my second tank.
They grow relatively normal. A polyp or two a month. I do frag them a lot to sell or trade, so I'm sure they'd grow faster if I let them be.
One of my favorite looking!

I got these from a cherry corals live sale for $20.

I thought I was getting 1 polyp but I ended up getting about 3-4 polyps on it! The picture must have been hiding the polyps.

normal to fast grower, 3-4 polyps per month they grow faster when I frag them. I notice the ones I frag, generate new polyps very quickly.

Very hardy, they never get upset or close up if parameters are off!

Pink zippers

Another coral I got from a cherry corals live sale. I paid $20 for these!

These actually survived the tank crash because I got them around the same time it crashed and I was able to move them to a different system quickly!

They grow normal as well. when I frag them, they repopulate quickly. normally 1-2 polyps per month on the main colony.

Very hardy!

A polyp I got from a reefer friend for $50

An extremely slow grower. Got it with 2 polyps and 1 baby. it grew another baby but the babies never grew out to full polyps and still to this day looks the same. Ive basically gotten no growth from it and I've had it for about 5 months.

Its extremely healthy, stays open all the time and doesn't get upset. Its very confusing cause I've never experienced anything like it with a zoa!

Such a looker but not a grower!
