thinkng of a light upgrade

I am currently using a 6bulb tek light over my tank. I am thinking about a possible upgrade to leds. i had planned on getting a new setup in January after holidays, but i figured it couldnt hurt to see what/if anything available now that someone may be looking to get rid of.
the lights must have a dimming feature and be able to cover a 36x36 tank
located in NJ, dont go to NY often

Good luck on your journey thirty6 if i were you grab somthing nice if your gonna stitch from T5's to Leds so you dont have to keep switching Led's

Rob, what light are you looking to grab from them? Prices are nice and reasonable, not sure how they stack up as reading those things is almost a foreign language to me

Same stuff as reef breeders and other programmable led lights.

Price is right, the lights will do what they have to do.

One thing I have realized is that most ppl don't operate their lights at 100%, so even if you end up with "under rated" fixtures that you have to run at 100% you still come out winning.

but....you wont be running reef breeders or reef radiance fixtures at 100% and they have 3 channels.

Cant go wrong with affordable fixtures that have 3 programmable channels.

I saw these at R-R aquatics recently. Very nice lights, rick just emailed me i would need two lumitek 180's for full coverage. Only 619- with shippin. Considerably cheaper than most options (new lights anyway)

im going with the it2040s the link i sent you. There full spectrum and i no quite a few people who have them They love them and ive done allot of research on them.

The lights we have now are the Tao-Tronic's Leds 50/50 Blue&White They work Wonders, But not so much for SPS, I'll tell you this much there amazing with the growth and the color. She has them running at 15 to 20% white all day long and the blues at 60-70% all day long never anything changing. Tank is 25"H 36"L 12"W 2 Fixtures is perfect for this there is no Lens on these ones either.


But anyways the IT2040 evergrow's are wonderfull the lighting layout and everything about them is perfect, The price for 4 units its 265$ea unit. Now that is awesome for those lights, Well i hope you choose the right fixture, I should be buying them in the next few weeks. I have to pay my Bills to the DMV before OCT 24.... 3days before my birthday... bummer... But ISH happens. LMK what your gonna be doing brotha.

yea i no thats what i think im going to do. i have someone already with me to buy 4 total so far so maybe if we can get a few more people maybe 10 we can drop the price to a good 220 or a little more then that, That would be a killlller deal.

i have the reef breeder well one fixture and am looking to replace my other two this light is amazing i just got a 48inch from the reefbreeder site for my boy after i highly recommended it and he loves it especially for 500 free shipping my corals have also been growing much better am reef breeders all the way now lol
