Coral Catsharks (Atelomycterus marmoratus) and Marbled Catsharks (Atelomycterus macleayi) are probably the best sharks to keep in an aquarium. They are not free swimming sharks and only get about 2' long but very slender. Even better than the sharks that hatch from the eggs everyone sees in the LFS (banded bamboo; gets almost 3' long and not slender). They are meant to hide and swim within the reef so they are very agile and are accostomed to rockwork. They need open space for hunting at night. They are easily fed frozen foods of all types. I find that if you have a powerhead that creates current at night across the length of your tank they will swim against it. Other than that they spend most of the day hiding within the rockwork (I recomend caves for them. They do much better with dens to hide within).

A 150 gallon tank would be the absolute minimum for one of these sharks. They can be voracious eaters like any other shark. I consider them the Catfish of the sea. Their behavior is very similar to a bullhead catfish. They spend most of the day hiding and then come out at night and eat whatever they can find (live or dead). They have an awesome sense of smell like most sharks. As soon as the food hits the water they are out and about ready to eat.
