Frags Damaged SPS

I got an small SPS 2 weeks ago from anouther MR member. When I recieved it some tips were broken off. Some have started to grow over with new polyps now covering the breaks. Others have not recovered well. It looks like the whole "branch" were the break was is starting to "rot" and is covered with hair alge. Should I break off the the "rotting branches"? Tthanks!

I don't think It is not too close to a power head. It was damaged when it was pulled out of the tank when I bought it. Other parts that were damaged have bounced back but several branches look totally dead now when only the tips were damaged when i bought it.

Thanks Wes.. I was thinking that was probably what I should do. Can I just break the branch off that is damaged with my hand or some pliers?
