I thought those trims around the tanks are made of formica.

i thought the trim was made of plastic that looks like wood

but i wouldnt know....i always buy tanks with the black plastic bracing

stand is looking good.......are u going to drill the tank or have a overflow box?

Some more pic's. I think I am going to move the tank to another wall I notice when I walk by it the water moves allot which I am going to assume is a bad thing.

I do believe that the trim is plastic so I think I am just going to paint it black.

why not paint it a color that resembles the color of the stand

Because it is plastic I don’t know it the stain will stick to it, the only thing that I can think of is sanding it a little before applying the stain.
