Refugium???

Hello everyone i just set up a refugium and just wanted to know how long is the light suppose to be on for??

I have heard and read that the lighting cycle should be opposite to your main lighting. I think it has something to do with maintaining PH levels.

Some people run the refugium light 24/7 and others like me run them opposite of the display tank. When the DT is on their off.

What do u keep in the fuge?

The way I look at it, the ocean does not get 24 hours of light, so i keep mine opposite cycle of the dt, but some people just keep it on for 24 hours. I have heard of certain macro algae (caulerpa) going asexual, I really never experienced this my self, but this is just me.

I run my refugium light 19 hrs a day. and it grows like crazy.

IM kepping macro algae and sand just started it 11/14/2011. i think the same way the ocean dont have light 24/7 so im going to keep it on for 10 hrs. thanks everyone..
