Would u trust a glasscages 180?

I've heard horror stories with gc tanks, most recently a cube the disintegrated over at the marketplace. But a 180 has popped up in my area pretty much new, ne'er set up.
Question is: would u trust one of this size? It's a standard 180 euro.

I think you'll find that the major complaint with GC is that they're sloppy with the silicone but the tanks are pretty good otherwise. Another problem was customer service and getting Mods done on the tank. Do a search, you'll find a lot of info on them here and on RC.

The tank breaking is a major thing, though I'm not sure if that's a one off thing or a major problem to worry about.

i have a little frag tank made by glass cages and the glass is not the same size all the way around.they are like an 1/8 offall around.i guess thats one of the complaints as well LOL

Does that mean each side or pain is a different thickness glass?

I have a 120g & 180g from them and they are structurally sound. Silicone job is less then to be desired but they are both braceless which is a plus for lighting.

a resounding NO!

water damage, coral/fish death + my time is too valuable to waste for cleanup. pay extra for the peace of mind.

See if you can buy the tank for the glass and get it assembled.
Glass is glass, the quality is in how it was put together and Im sure there is someone locally who could do a better job.

I would hope that a tank would last more than 2 years, but I guess you need to look further into the reason way it exploded. Was it because GC did a bad job or was it something with the tank not being setup correctly, like it wasn't level. I guess this is one of the main reasons why I brought an acrylic tank.

I think you need to realize that GC primary business is making Reptile cages.

i didnt say its thier fault i just say that my tank exploded all of sudden and when i looked at the corner its not even .........so next time ill buy a big tank it would be acrylic ......
