Do you have a sump? If so, AquaC Urchin. If not, AquaC Remora. If you do decide to buy them online, I can help you make it super silent... doesn't involve much hard work at all... or you can go with other suggestions Good luck starting your 50 breeder.

I think your thread is on the wrong section of the forum xD

Should post this on the Equipment forum. There's also a great sticky thread there already for skimmers

+1. Equipment forum is best.

Plus, Id run as Far away from an Aqua C remora/urchin as you can.
Whats your budget? Bioload? Sump? Hang on back?

AquaC is awesome, why would you run away from it o.O? Skims right away, don't even have to adjust. Slight modification and it becomes quiet as a baby

The performance isn't even in the same league as other skimmers. Even a Tunze 9002 will easily double the performance of an Aqua C, and will do it much quieter and more efficiently.
I used one a long time ago (probably 2006 or so), and my father has one on his FOWLR tank (bought the whole setup used and it came with it..) now. I just can't recommend them to anyone.

Yea I think the remoras are good also. I use one on my tank now and I used them on my nanos as well and the thing skims like a beast.

I have a Bubble Magus NAC 3.5 on my 50b. I've been told it's a little undersized but I can't say if it is or not since I'm still cycling.

IMO/IME Aqua C is not so great. 10 years ago it was a good option. The spray injection wanna-be beckett skimmer is just plain weak. In a 50 gal tank you want more skimming power. I wold choose some type of needle wheel skimmer that will suck around 500lph (should say in airflow specs of skimmer)
