Anyone changed from 10k to 20k Bulbs

I want to try these new bulbs I brought in from Coral Vue. I want more coloration in my corals. What are your thoughts on 20k bulbs.

went from 400 watt 10k to 400 watt radiums looks great not to blue and the corals never looked better.

I only us 20k bulbs at the shop if you want to check it out.

used to use 10k like 5 years ago now I use 20k's all the time. Dont even like 14k's prefer 20k's

but thats just me

right now i am running radiums on pfo hqi ballast

if ur looking for growth then 10 k is def. way better then the 20k... if your looking for looks and really nice colors on ur corals then 20k is the way 2 go.... right now i have 14 k hammys but im prob. gonna switch over to 10k's with 2 vho super actnics for the blue tint....

The pfo HQI does run the radiums pretty white. Almost like a 10k

The 400W radiums at tyree's place are all dim in comparison to 10K 250W bulbs I was using at the time.

I heard that before, but I think someone said that he doesn't use HQI ballasts though

When I switched from my 10gal to my 20 gal, I went from 64w 10K pc to 150w de 20k. I liked the color, but the coral growth really slowed down. I switched down to a 14kk and really liked the color.

On my new tank I'm probably going to go with 10k since I"ll finally have some VHO or T5 actinics.

If i ever go 400W, it would be 20k Radiums. That color and growth is sweet. I just went from 20k to 13k, no reason, just wanted to try something different. But i won't hesitate to go back to 20k again, only Radiums though.

I'm going to give coral vue a try. Coral vue is cheaper and may prove to be a good option.

I think you need HQI ballast to fire a redium bulb. Never tried my self thou, the bulb is too expensive

Well I decided to go with reefflux 14ks, I'll show some pics later

pfo hqi runs the radium lamps pretty white, does not look 20k.
