Well i don't know what happened to him. I've had him since day one, it was my first saltwater fish. But he has developed a taste for my big stag. He keeps picking at it and the stag has tissue dieoff. This has been going on for weeks now. I have closely watched him to see if he was picking at the dead tissue areas or what. However, i saw him picking at the live areas and i think that's leading the coral to RTN.

This Stag has been through all the disaters with me so i thought it was untouchable. All other SPS seem fine. So i assume that it's the fish causing the damage. Has anyone else had a fish cause their SPS to RTN from picking at it?

I think a trap might be in the works!

Whats up Pedro

I would takeout the stag and put in a QT tank for now ,see if your fish is going after anything else .or take the fish out and see if you stag heals up

I'm going to trap the fish. It's a touchy decision since it was my firat fish. But i'll put it in the sump until i can 100% confirm that it's the cause of the problem.

The last time i tried the inverted water bottle and that worked out fine.

Ronen, what's up. Where's that website? Move it! lol

Pedro, many times the picking by a fish is because the coral is already stressed for some reason. Also, if it's been a few weeks, then I'd go out on a limb here and say it is stn, not rtn.

Russ,

I agree, it's more like STN, i just used the wrong word. If it was RTN, i would have a dead stag by now.

I might also frag it just in case. He shouldn't be too hard to catch. I'll see how it goes.
