I know that for the most part in a reef tank Bristle worms are harmless? However, I just wanted to know if in Large populations if they cause problems..... It seems that I have a population explosion and no fish in my tank currently to control the population. They are everywhere!!!! :anger2: Let me know what you guys think.... Thank you

You can build a trap very cheap- it's just a tube closed at one ned and a hole that's not as big around as the tube. They crawl in and can't crawl out. Put some shrimp or something in it at the end of the lighting cycle and when they come out at night to feed, they'll crawl in for the food and can't get out. Collect it each morning and get rid of them.

I don't believe in buying an animal to erradicate another- it's never a guarantee, the traps almost always are.

I have a 65 gallon fuge on my system. If I stir up the huge ball of chaeto, there are dozens and dozens of bristle worms living in it, none over an inch long. I know that there is an adult in there that is 5+ inches long too. I have plenty more in the display tank. They do no harm and help cleaning the tank, and otherwise mind their business.
