I was in your same boat when a few of my customers wanted to use it in their tanks so I asked a few customers and friends of their experiences with it (I've never used it) and they said to stay clear of it because it not used properly and/or often enough then it'll make it worse in some cases.

I dunno how big your tank is but here is my personal recommendation:

If you are able to remove each rock than do so VERY SLOWLY with all pumps OFF.

ONLY grab the rock where you can see that there are NO anemones.

While in the water, examine each rock SLOWLY (so they don't retract where u can't see them). I've been told that they emit spores when they feel threatened to ensure their survival (BUT I don't know that for sure... I never did the homework).

Now that you've discovered where they are throughout the rock, use the (BLUE/ORANGE) Gorilla glue and completely encompass each anemone. Count to 10 slowly and place the rock back in the tank. The salt in the water will make a skin cure on the glue and will not leach into the water.

Don't be too worried about re-scaping the tank back to normal for a few months because you'll find more as days and weeks go by so don't stress yourself out that every other day you feel like your tank is all discombobulated. IME it is more of a PITA if you have to re-scape everyday.

Work one section of the tank at a time and just let the rocks pile up so you know what still needs to be done. It took me 3 months of searching everyday for the first 2 months and than every few days for the last month. I checked every day or so for about 4 months after and never saw another one.

If you have a huge tank than I don't know what you would do other than possibly removing a significant amount of rock and letting it dry (4-6 weeks) and re-cure it after a few weeks (4-6 to be safe) and putting that amount back in so you can remove another pile. Not that this is 100% but there is no reason that it couldn't work. Just make sure that the newly cured rock and the existing rock aren't all that close to eachother.

My display was upside down for about 6 months or so before I scaped it back to normal. I just didn't want to deal with all of these nightmare stories that we hear about where people have been battling them for years and it keeps coming back to them.

I've also heard of people injecting their bodies with either lemon juice or calcium BUT you can only get to the ones that youc an see/reach.

Best of luck.

When done PROPERLY it works really eel. Went on a killing spree last night to get the ones I missed during round 1. You need to make sure you approach the Nem slowly. As soon as the tip of the string is over the mouth squirt a small amount into the Nem. It will than close around the tip. Give another squirt and remove the string. You don't need a lot. Just enough the cover the mouth/ head fully. It will melt zoo's and other coral so u do need to be careful. It is not a perfect cure but does work well. It is one of those constant battle pests.

My experience with any of these aiptasia remedies, whether chemicals, fish, shrimp, or berghia nudibranchs, has been hit or miss. The berghia eat them ,but they are so fragile that they often disappear totally before they make any kind of impact in a display tank. Aiptasia X seems to work, but, usually one week after you apply, they come right back.

I smered them with kalk. Kept spreading. Biught a few nudis a few weeks ago. Even though i havent seen the nudis i dont see any more aiptasia anymore. As long as you dont have anything that might kill them i highly recommend them.
