I am the same way when it comes to aquascaping... to the point where I want to smash everything after a while of trying. What helped me with my newer set up (thanks again for the radion) was staging the rock outside of the tank to find a configuration that I liked, then from there try to replicate it in the tank.

You going to stick with it this time?

Dubs has a 4' 150, looks very nice. Check his tank thread out. You can get a lot of nice idea just by looking at other tanks. It also depends on your rock. Do you currently have rock? Have any odd shaped pieces or flat pieces? I feel they add to the display but thats only my opinion.

I agree etching up dry is good to get a feel for what ou like and the direction our like to move toward.

If you go with dry rock your possibilities for a rock scape are endless.

Same applies to live rock, but a little more complicated since it must be done at a faster rate to avoid die off ( if your going to cycle then it doesn't really matter)

You can, break, mold, chip, join, epoxy etc.

Just make sure you are wearing quality gloves and eye protection.

I normally buy a cardboard box and make it to the exact dimensions of my tank an build a structure inside of it then epoxy everything together once happy and introduce to tank once the epoxy sets.
