Hello everyone, I've been itching for the DIY night that never came to be. the main setback, if I recall correctly, was the concern for space and noise in a residential space- worry no more. recently i was given permission to use my mother in laws beauty salon as the place to get together for such a night.the salon is very spacious,i mean VERY SPACIOUS, so there are NO restrictions on the number of people that can attend.plenty of seats available and central AC.the drawbacks are as follows-
the salon is located in Passaic NJ, on a good day i can get there in twenty minutes by car from the bronx,it's off of exit 59 on I80 (jerome ave. & Cross Bronx Expressway)
We must clean up after ourselves once we're done.
the only day the salon is closed is on tuesdays, so naturally that would be the best day, but anyday is good.
that's pretty much all there is to the downsides. there are several buses, state run (NJ transit) and privately owned that can drop you off at the salon from the port authority terminal on 42nd st (i've never rode the state run buses bifore, i ride the little buses only $3 ride leaves you right in front of the salon (these buses park on 41st and should have a sign on the front that says "Patterson".
everyone can post here, let's try to keep it only here, with suggestions on the event itself and a date.i'm off the beginning of the week and for the month of june and pretty much every weekday for the month of july.
hopefully this time it doesn't fall through....

Spykes i'm willing to go pick you up only because we desperately need your expertise ....it's a pity though, you have your own car lazy bum lol.i think i just like to drive though, more so than others.

J i'm sure there are countless numbers like you and me with leftover tubing from canal plastics.

i have router (small ass table, and guide),drill,and dremel.spykes how big is your tablesaw??if it fits in the car maybe we could haul it up there.

we can bring it up there, but john has a nicer one [img]tongue.gif[/img] i got a milter saw as well, but i guess we can bring everything and more the merryer

how are we going to keep spykes from playing with the salon equipment

your welcome to bring my table saw I think it only weighs about 600 pounds.

I have a mini router table as well. you guys realize how much mess routing acrylic makes. that could be bad in the salon.
