originally set up my 180 with a GEN-X PCX 40
way too noisey for me I replaced it with an Iwaki 40

coral life runs qiuet but eats a lot of power. gen x can be silenced if padded correctly i know some one who uses it and it is qiuet the way he set it up. if you need to know how i will ask him for you pm if so

nope gen-X has a ran on the rear that is real noisy

i finally finish my plumbing. yesterday i try to run the pump to the sump and run it all night long. i think gen x pretty noisy for me. i try to unscrew the pump and put the pump into my hand, and the pump still have those humming noise. another thing this pump make my water sump temperature raise to 87 F. i thought external pump should make the tank much cooler. what do u guys think?
