I just bought two fish for my tank- a purple fire fish and a red scooter blenny- prices were reaaaally steep at New World Aquarium ($40 each!!!!), but if I had bought online and had them shipped it would have ended up costing around the same anyway..

Just wondering what you guys suggest I should feed these guys (will post pics soon!)... as of now I rotate feeding frozen Clyclopeeze every other day, with DT's Phyto in between. The DTs was suggested at New World- but I dont see how that will help feed these guys...

Any other suggestions on feeding them?

ever went to queen, where fishtown is? They had purple firefish for like 12 dollars. every other fish there is dirt cheap, of course there are the down sides where you should QT them and medicate them.

New world is a real ripoff- but I have to say their livestock is really healthy. Both fish are acclimated nicely and are looking great. $12??? That's crazy- funny though, even had i known about that place I probably would have still gone to New World...not having a car in the city makes getting anywhere a real pain. I'd drive an hour out of my way to get a good deal out in NJ (where I'm from)- but take the subway for an hour or longer round trip? Not happening :) Same thing goes for just about anything else- if its not in a 10 block radius from my apartment I'll proabaly never make it there!

Thanks- I'll try the mysis shrimp (bought baby brine shrimp by accident the other day- don't know if they will eat those of not, since they just make a cloud in the tank). I was wondering if the blenny had any special needs other than normal feeding.

The Scooter Blenny may be a difficult fish to keep due to its feeding habits. The Scooter Blenny will sift through the sand for food. Finely cut meaty foods and vitamin-enriched brine shrimp may be acceptable substitutes.

Thanks for the info- deepwater, too bad I didn't think of it (at least my fish look great for the $$$).

Hopefully Cyclopeeze and brineshimp will feed both- its not the firefish I'm worried about, but the Blenny.

Yeah, the Firefish will eat anything. Mine does. Except Formula 2. No one ate Formula 2 in my tank. The Scooter Blenny is tricky; in fact when I inquired about one at NWA the guy there discouraged me from buying one because of their tough feeding habits. And I didn't. :)
