Refractometer question

So, I bought a portable refractometer from Drs. and it came with no directions! What the hell do I do with this thing?

place a drop of distilled fresh water on the glass- close the lid- hold it up to bright light- look into it and see where the blue mark goes up to.. should be 0. If its not, then calibrate it using the screwdriver.

Then do the same with your SW- the blue mark should now be accurate and show what the salinity is.

The directions should be in the blue case in the back behind the foam. Reefer 420 is correct. Use RO/DI or distilled water, place two drops look into the light and twist the screwdriver until the blue section meets 0 if needed.

Also remember to wipe off with RO/DI water after each use to avoid salt buildup. The refractometer should be calibrated periodically.
