did my ph meter go plewy..?

turned on my ph meter this morning to find the readings drop like a rock. the meter read 2.57 then down to - 2.50, needless to say was in a panic...got my chemical ph tester and it read 8.4...wth?
anybody have any experience with this phenomena?thxs

its a americAN marine ph meter

i calibrated it when i got it ....and it sits in my return area of my sump...i just dont

leave it on but its always submerged...good to c u again sean been awhile..eh.lol

yup if you running it on batts ,and its low ,it will read a low reading

you should trust your corals ,,if your ph dropped to 3.0 your corals are dead ,or stressed f**k out ,lol

Mike ,One thing I hear all the time in the plumbing feild ,"it was working fine yesterday" my reply to them is ,

I went to sleep last nite feeling well,stonrg,happy,got up in the morning sick ,coughing ,achy ,
thses things hapen ,one day eveything works fine the next something is not ,that why alway check your equpitment ,word of the wise ,,LOL

sting said the right thing ,Calibrating 1ce evey 6 months

you dont leave it on all the time ?just wanting to know ,why not?
