what cartridge do you guys use. Do you you use hi silicas cartridge and how inportant are they. I have a five stage and when i use just 2 rodi cart instead of 1 RODI and 1 Hi Silicas Rodi. my cartridges last twice as long. i called Spectrapure and ask them this question and they told me to call my water company and find out if they use chlorimines in there water. so i did and there reply was NO. that they use sodium hydro chloride. so i called Spectrapure back and they said that i don't need the Silicas Cartridge for my water. The reason this is important is because when i use Rodi and Silicas i was changing both every three weeks with the amount of water my system needs. with 2 rodis i was changing 1 every three to four weeks and just sliding over the used ( which was not fully used yet) one and adding a new one.

I believe hi Silicas is more for taking chlorine out of the water. My Mighty Mite unit from airwaterice.com has:
