You have to understand that are alot of new people here and all they seems to be doing in buying and buying and buying without any thought process involved. Advise has been offer by people, including myself, who have been in the hobby for along time and it has been view as nothing but an attack by the person receiving the help. This is very frustration to the person giving the advise to the point where they just don't care and are just going to wait until the person fails. As for Pierce acting like a RC person, well when he offers advise to some one and they comeback to him that he just trying to keep him down and he doesn't know what he talking about what do you except, specially since he was trying to help.

I'm not sure where along the line that MR has gotten to the point where if some one criticize some one it's a bad thing. Not everything can be rosey all the time.

its the way you critize someone. there are diff. ways. but lets end that whole thing.

You don't need to take all of advise, or for that matter any of it, but you should at least listen and maybe do some more research.

I've help many people over the years and I always told them to take my advise and then do some research on their own, whether on RC or just the net, and then try to draw conclusion on what should be done.

do you call having 10 fish in a 75 optimum care.??? 5 of them being tangs! that need alot of swiming room
if you took optimum care you wouldnt do it.
there is no level of care that will prevent your tank from eventually being strikin by ich. especially with all those tang in there.
just take some of them out, and youll be happy and theyll be happy and well all be happy :)::::

WOW, I see my screen name mentioned a few time too many.

Look, how and what you want to stock your tank with is your business, I DON"T CARE. However, some people come here for good information, not bad way to keep a tank. You and few of your buddies keeps on posting "help" messages while you are stuffing more fish in your little tank, that is just wrong and is wasting our time to read them and advice you what you need to do correctly.

I know you'll get over it, the tank is probably only a short term fab for you. You will get tire of putting all the $$ buying live stock for your tank only to have them die in a short time.

wow, this thread is interesting.

It shows one thing to me that people do care about fish here :)

To be give "constructive" advice to nycfatcow is simple.
Buy a much larger tank and a giant skimmer then keep just about all the fish you want. Or just sell some of the fish you have in there, well not some, most all of them

As for this site being like RC, it's not even close, not buy a mile.
As for the advice given on this site it's some of the best. We have people with decades of experience in this hobby whose combined knowledge is hundreds of years. When advice is asked or given it's up to the person receiving it to choose to listen or not. But don't get pissed off if you don't like what your hearing. Like Marrone said not everything is going to be nice and pleasant all the time. Sometimes a person is doing something wrong and needs to be corrected. That's what this site is here for, to help people.

In hopes to help relieve nycfatcow if he would like im willing to take a hippo off him. Just give me a price due to the fact its unfair after QT throwing him in a 75 with all those other fish.

nycfatcow,
If you came here knowing you were going to get yelled, why'd you post? One of the first things you said was "everyones gonna be yellin at me...but more fish looks better". Does it really matter what looks better or the conditions that your giving to the fish?

John said it if your looking for constructive criticism go and get a huge skimmer and a huge tank and get pretty much anything you want, but there will always be a limit to how much you can have.

Pierce is another knowledgable person on this board, I've had the pleasure of meeting him personally and he knows what he's doing. When you try and try to keep the same thing from happen and then someone says they know its wrong but still does it, I think you'd probably get pissed too. I made my mistakes too but that was before I found the board and those mistakes werent the 10 big fish in a 75g. Since I've been here maybe 10 months my whole "style" of reefing changed cause theres a whole lot of advice given.

Just becuase we aren't RC doesn't mean it's right to show off big fish in a small tank. Yes they're nice fish but after a short while, they'll probably be nothing left of them. Since they're still in QT why not try to sell them to someone who has a tank fit for the fish.

Just take your time and think about what your buying before you buy it. I'm still always tempted to buy everything but it just doesn't work out, I've done it before and ended up with huge losses. Take everyones advice and find the fish a suitable home.

Droppin' another nickel.
