I introduced a kole tang into my tank after having a yellow tang already in there. Things were fine for 2 days but to be on the safe side I introduced him at night when the lights were off and even rearranged the rock work hoping the yellow would leave him alone. a few days passed and the kole was fine swimming around today I come out to look at the tank my kole is laying on his side breathing rapidly so I immediately grabbed a net took the rocks down and grabbed him (he was so weak he didnt even resist me holding him in my hand) His fins are badly nipped. I have him in my sump right now with some live rock. Im on my way to buy brine shrimp as well as another lettuce clip to see if I can get him to eat and possibly recover. He is still laying on his side breathing rapidly. Whats the chance of him surviving? I do not want to see this fish die =/

His fins are just badly torn. I know they grow back but he looks to be in very bad shock from this he's still laying on his side and breathing rapidly

fyi, brine shrimp has 0 nutritional value, it's like us eating a head of iceberg lettuce,

get some formula one, or some frozen spirilina enriched brine shrimp, or some selecon to soak the live brine shrimp in.

keep a low light on in the sump so he is not in total darkness.

also you might want to try mixing some minced garlic in with the food, they seem to like that and the garlic may help the immune system, that has not been proven yet, but it is a theory.

Or i think Formula 2 is for herbivores.
you can try garlic flakes or "Garlic Guard" (by seachem) - there is no proof that garlic helps, but it doesnt seem to hurt.
You are better off with "Sweetwater Zooplankton" than brine shrimp. It is also small and wet, but at least it has nutrition.
