I just got a 2nd hand light from MR member(thanks Steve) and find out that my yellow color fish look more than excellent while my orange fish looks terrible. The blue one are excellent too.

I am raising fresh water African cichlids. The ones I am talking about is about 2-2.5". Their bodies may be somewhat translucent that possibly contributed to the issue.

I got 2 x 65W 50/50 67000K and Actinic

Anyone have any idea what may be a better mix of the light for my tank.

Looks need to go back to school for light mixing knowledge. :banghead:

Thanks.

For Africans, the Power-Glo lights work the best to bring out the color. There are equivalents in PC, but I'm not sure of the K value. Check for freshwater pc's. I had them before, so I know they make them. They bring out the reds a little more, that's why you orange is lacking with the bluish tints you have now. Actinics are not that great for them. They're not like corals.
